Jos, Plateau State – November 25, 2024

The Dr. Isa El-Buba Foundation is proud to join the global community in the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), reaffirming its dedication to fostering gender justice and social inclusion. Under the theme, “Towards Beijing +30: UNiTE to End Violence Against Women and Girls,” the Foundation seeks to inspire collective action and sustainable solutions to eliminate

The Foundation’s activities will kick off with a Gender Walk on November 25, 2024, in collaboration with the Side by Side Faith Movement for Gender Justice, Plateau State Chapter. This walk will raise awareness and demonstrate solidarity against GBV, emphasizing the critical role faith communities play in championing equality and inclusivity.

As part of its community-driven initiatives, the Foundation will also conduct a Free Medical Outreach for Women in Fusa Community, Jos East Local Government Area, Plateau State. This outreach is designed to address the unique health challenges faced by women in underserved areas, offering essential medical services and fostering dialogue on GBV prevention.

To amplify its advocacy, the Foundation will leverage social media to share Strategic Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) messages through infographics. These messages aim to educate the public, challenge harmful stereotypes, and promote proactive steps toward gender justice.

Speaking on the significance of these activities, Mrs. Deborah El-Buba Atubi, Executive Director of the Dr. Isa El-Buba Foundation, stated:

“The fight against gender-based violence is a moral, social, and spiritual imperative. By participating in the 16 Days of Activism, we hope to not only highlight the devastating impact of GBV but also to empower communities to take bold steps toward creating a future free from violence and inequality. Through our collaborative efforts, we can build a society where every woman and girl is valued, protected, and empowered.”

The Foundation calls on individuals, faith leaders, civil society, and policymakers to join hands in creating safe, inclusive spaces that uphold the dignity and rights of all. Together, we can make meaningful strides toward achieving the goals of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
