Foundation's Inception and Founding Story
Our roots stretch deep into Maiduguri, Borno State, where our initial focus was on trading dried agro products such as peppers, maize, and groundnuts. The main aim was not just commerce but preservation – to reduce waste and give local farmers a reliable market for their products. The revenues generated were funneled directly into community development, primarily supporting students with scholarships and basic amenities. The foundation, born out of a deep-seated desire to uplift the community, was spearheaded by Prophet Dr. Isa El-Buba, with the initial trade operations serving as the bedrock for its inception.
Significant Milestones and Achievements: A Timeline Walkthrough
Early 1990s:
• Foundation’s Roots: The early seeds of the Foundation are planted in Maiduguri, Borno State, with a primary focus on trading dried agro products such as peppers, maize, and groundnuts.
• Supporting Local Farmers: Dedicated to preserving these agro products, reducing waste, and ensuring farmers expanded their operations by providing a reliable end market.
• Early Education Initiatives: The returns from these business transactions became the bedrock of early educational initiatives – offering basic amenities to students and covering their fees.
Mid to Late 1990s:
• Elevating Education: The Foundation’s efforts in building schools in rural areas began, drastically improving educational standards.
• Scholarship Initiatives: Numerous students were enrolled in scholarship programs, spanning from nursery to tertiary education, ensuring that no student’s dream was hindered due to financial constraints.
Early 2000s:
• Responding to Crisis: As the North-East region of Nigeria faced increasing crises and violence, the Foundation provided shelter to those displaced, not only building homes but also essential infrastructures such as electricity, water supply, and solar panel installations.
• Empowering the Displaced: Beyond just providing structures, the Foundation ensured that the displaced were actively involved in rebuilding their own homes, instilling a sense of ownership and pride.
Mid to Late 2000s:
• Consistent Aid: Even amidst economic challenges, the Foundation was a beacon of hope, providing food and basic amenities to thousands across Nigeria’s 36 states.
• Leadership & Empowerment: Programs aimed at nurturing the youth for political offices and grassroots change were initiated across various states.
Early 2010s:
• Evolution and Growth: The Foundation underwent significant transformations, evolving into the El-Buba Outreach Ministry and subsequently into the Dr. Isa El-Buba Foundation we know today.
• Expansion of Assets: This period saw the acquisition and development of various assets, including lands, schools, and a shopping complex
2020s:
• Strategic Growth: With meticulous financial planning and strategic marketing approaches, the Foundation set on a path of sustainable growth.
• Bold Ambitions for Housing: As part of a five-year vision, plans to construct 1,000 houses in the first year of a 5,000-unit housing project were initiated. Profits from this venture and other projects in healthcare and agriculture were expected to kick in by the second year.
• August 31, 2023: The Foundation’s official launch as the Dr. Isa El-Buba
